Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Chalk It Out (“we”, “us”) for using the travel planner at chalkitout.net. By creating an account or using Chalk It Out, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.

1. Your account

  • Give accurate details when you sign up, and keep your password to yourself.
  • You are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else is using it.
  • If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf before you use Chalk It Out.

2. Your trips and files

  • Everything you add, including trips, notes and uploaded documents, stays yours. You allow us to store it and to show it to you and to the people you choose, only so that Chalk It Out can work.
  • Only upload documents that belong to you or that you have permission to keep and share.
  • You decide who joins your trips and who can open your files. Before you share, make sure you trust the person; we can't take back what they have already seen or saved.
  • Keep your own copies of important tickets and documents. Chalk It Out is not a backup service.

3. Using Chalk It Out fairly

Please don't:

  • upload anything illegal, harmful, or that you don't have the right to share;
  • try to see or change trips, files or accounts that aren't yours or shared with you;
  • upload viruses or anything else meant to cause damage;
  • overload, copy in bulk, or interfere with the service or the people who use it;
  • use Chalk It Out to harass, deceive or spam anyone.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

4. Travel information

Chalk It Out helps you organise your plans. We are not a travel agent and we don't make or check bookings. Always confirm times, tickets, visas and travel rules with the airline, operator, hotel or official source. We are not responsible for missed connections, cancelled bookings or travel decisions you make using the planner.

5. The service

Chalk It Out is free while in early access. We are still building it, so features may change, and it may sometimes be unavailable or have errors. We provide it “as is”, without promises that it will always work perfectly. If we ever plan to charge for it, we will tell you clearly beforehand, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.

6. Limits on our responsibility

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost bookings, lost profits or lost data, that come from using or not being able to use Chalk It Out. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under Indian consumer protection law that cannot be limited.

7. Ending your use

You can stop using Chalk It Out at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@chalkitout.net. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and where possible we will tell you why first.

8. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top. For important changes, we will tell you by email or on the website before they take effect. If you keep using Chalk It Out after that, the new terms apply.

9. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If a dispute can't be settled by talking to us first, the courts in Kolkata, West Bengal will deal with it.
